Some Notes on the Eve of the 5000th Read

I started this blog March 3, and to me, the daily reads have grown by leaps and bounds–which makes me very happy–and so has my working knowledge of what WordPress has to offer.

I started out with Rubric, and then liked Misty Look and have decided to stay with Chaotic Soul. It just looks cleaner and more orderly, and it sets off any colors.

I’ve discovered what RSS feeds can do for me. They’re located as you scroll down, and they include so far feeds from the Centers for Disease Control, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The New Orleans Times-Picayune, and three British mainstays, The BBC, The Guardian and The Independent. I add the Brits because they can be more reliable than American papers to get the real information out. I plan to switch feeds from time to time.

I’ve also added a widget that shows who has been visiting and commenting on the blog. And people are beginning to comment, if not the pingbacks. I’d like the Page  have a community of colors, even though it is very much black, womanish, political, cultural, and respectful of LGBT issues.

It seems that people do like my writing here; the top five entries are:

  • Disney’s First Black Princess Has a Wha…White! Latino? Prince
  • Breaking: Swine Flu Arrives in Wisconsin
  • Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover, 11, Commits Suicide Over Anti-Gay Bullying
  • Did Steve Harvey Plagiarize His New Book from Another Woman?
  • “Good Times” Artist Ernie Barnes, 70, Dies

I’m glad I was able to impart little knowledge to you all, and that you enjoyed these articles and clicked those links.  Stick around, because there’s more to come.

Lastly, I’d like for people to take time and visit some of the blog sites I have listed; I’ve liked most of them, and they’ve given me either insights or impetus to speak on an issue. I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

Otherwise, thank you, and please continue to enjoy This Black Sista’s Page.
