UPDATE: (2:15 p.m., Central Time) Texas cardiologist Conrad Robert Murray, the personal physician to Michael Jackson, has agreed to meet with the L.A.P.D. regarding the singer’s death, according to TMZ.com.

As an autopsy is being performed on the late singer, The Huffington Post and TMZ.com are reporting that Michael Jackson’s personal physician is “missing in action.” Police spokeswoman Karen Raymer insisted to the press that the doctor was not under criminal investigation, but that the police would like to obtain his whereabouts in order to interview him. A car that may have belonged to the doctor was impounded by the L.A.P.D. for evidence.

TMZ.com is also reporting that a lethal dose of Demerol might have killed Michael Jackson, and that his father, Joseph, wanted to intervene and put him in rehab.

At any rate, within weeks, the toxicology report would finalize any coroner’s initial finding that it was an administered, accidental drug overdose that killed Michael Jackson.
