Well, We’re Not Going to Claim THIS Ancestor: DNA Study of Adolf Hitler Shows He Had Jewish and African Roots

Yeah, I already knew about the 150,000 Jews who are said to have fought for Hitler during World War II, and to have even participated in the Final Solution–in the systematic murder of their own people. But I figured there was something to the “self-hating Jew” label ascribable to Der Fuhrer. This revelation, released last week, really takes the cake. And it’s from a country that spawned its own Nazi collaborators, and had a bloody colonial history in the Congo. (Warning: you must have the Google language tie-in to translate this web article into English to read it in its original form.)

The Daily Telegraph (UK) said:

Saliva samples taken from 39 relatives of the Nazi leader show he may have had biological links to the “subhuman” races that he tried to exterminate during the Holocaust.

Jean-Paul Mulders, a Belgian journalist, and Marc Vermeeren, a historian, tracked down the Fuhrer’s relatives, including an Austrian farmer who was his cousin, earlier this year. A chromosome called Haplogroup E1b1b1 which showed up in their samples is rare in Western Europe and is most commonly found in the Berbers of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, as well as among Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews.

“One can from this postulate that Hitler was related to people whom he despised,” Mr Mulders wrote in the Belgian magazine, Knack.

Haplogroup E1b1b1, which accounts for approximately 18 to 20 per cent of Ashkenazi and 8.6 per cent to 30 per cent of Sephardic Y-chromosomes, appears to be one of the major founding lineages of the Jewish population.

Knack, which published the findings, says the DNA was tested under stringent laboratory conditions.

“This is a surprising result,” said Ronny Decorte, a genetic specialist at the Catholic University of Leuven.

“The affair is fascinating if one compares it with the conception of the world of the Nazis, in which race and blood was central.

“Hitler’s concern over his descent was not unjustified. He was apparently not “pure” or ‘Aryan’.”

It is not the first time that historians have suggested Hitler had Jewish ancestry.

His father, Alois, is thought to have been the illegitimate offspring of a maid called Maria Schickelgruber and a 19-year-old Jewish man called Frankenberger.

Knack also said that the Somalis are also related to Hitler.

That’s the end of that bullsh*t called a master or a pure race. Not even a pure African race. There isn’t any.

Hitler destroyed as much information as possible about his origins and his former life in Vienna and Munich before he became Fuhrer of Germany. He even told a nephew, Patrick Hitler, that no one was going to know who he was or where he came from. As proof, he destroyed his father’s birthplace, Dollersheim, Austria after the Anschluss to prevent journalists or other researchers from snooping around. Some of these guys were met by the Gestapo if they dared show up. The town still consists of mounds of rubble, having been used as target practice by the German armed forces. It is still used as target practice today by the Austrian army, although the church and the cemetery are still nominally intact.

Maria Schicklgruber’s grave was not moved when the town and its environs were evacuated by the Wehrmacht and pulverized in 1942.  (The Nazis, however, could not find her remains, according to Wikipedia, so they dedicated a plaque on the church wall in her name, but it has since disappeared.)  Must have been how Hitler viewed his paternal grandmother. Might as well blow her up too, right? Better not call too much attention to her.

Because Maria birthed Alois under her own name when she was 42 years old (Alois changed his name to that of his stepfather, Johann Hiedler, when he was conveniently dead after 20 years had gone by, and claimed he was Hiedler’s natural son in a successful bid for legitimacy).  Maria was not necessarily poor either according to the standards of the time.  So Maria was not some nubile girl being ravaged by a young hound. It may have been a mere one-night stand that took with the unmarried but not necessarily virginal Maria Schicklgruber (I pass no judgment on the woman with this statement, merely stating fact).

If anything, 19-year-old Leopold Frankenberger, whom eminent Hitler scholars like Ian Kershaw and Brigitte Hamman have recently dismissed as the father, is the logical suspect with the genes who may have impregnated her, and not Johann Heidler (or as previously thought, his brother). According to the story, Frankenberger’s father, who was said to be rich, sent her money for her maintenance and for Alois’ upbringing until he was 14 in order to settle with her and hush up the scandal.

DNA never lies. Never. A lot of revising in those history books is going to have to be done. A lot of eggs on historians’ faces today.

Rupert Murdoch’s rag, The Sun, had more on the hunt for surviving relatives to make a definitive conclusion. And named some names of Hitler kin, and how willing they were to give up saliva or blood samples.

A journalist working for a magazine in Brussels managed to get hold of a sample from Alexander Stuart-Houston, 61, a grand-nephew of Hitler living in America, after picking up a serviette he had dropped. (Mulders had to follow Stuart-Houston around to get it.)

Reporter Jean-Paul Mulders used the services of historian Marc Vermeeren to find Hitler’s Austrian cousin, a farmer called Norbert H, and 39 other distant relatives of the Fuehrer.

Norbert H then gave Vermeeren and Mulders a sample of his saliva.

Using both the Austrian sample and the serviette DNA, Mulders claims the link between the two men was “irrefutable”, adding: “the Y-chromosome was identical.”

“Stuart-Houston.” The Hitler grand-nephew’s surname is that of a rabid British anti-Semite that the Nazis came to admire, Houston Stewart Chamberlain. Chamberlain, before his death in 1927, became a Nazi, and renounced his British citizenship. Hitler attended his funeral.

Damn. This hate sh*t dies hard. Even into the next generation…

Knack says that Russia, once the Soviet Union, having captured the most artifacts from Hitler that would contain his DNA, could confirm its findings if qualified researchers were allowed to test them. It is now attempting to contact those archivists and officials to make the final determination. In fact, Russia once possessed the remains of Hitler, Eva Braun, and the Goebbels family in total. Even upon examination, though, after the Second World War had concluded, Josef Stalin wasn’t thoroughly convinced that his arch-enemy was really dead. However, he and his henchmen feared that if the remains were buried, even secretly, someone would find out and a neo-Nazi shrine might spring up on the spot. They wanted to stamp out any possible counter movement to their rule behind the Iron Curtain.

To be on the safe side, the bodies were moved about by SMERSH, and buried and reburied periodically (just like the Romanovs). They ended up buried on the grounds of a KGB facility in Magdeburg, East Germany until 1970. Then they were finally exhumed, burned, and the ashes thrown over a bridge into a rather sluggish tributary of the Elbe River. I saw the location film on You Tube; the narrator is a German woman. Doesn’t look like a particularly happy place. The KGB certainly wanted this quiet as it is kept.

The Russians are said to keep Hitler’s jawbone and other bone fragments in their archives. These were filmed during a Discovery Channel documentary some years back. The Russians also might still possess the couch or the fabric from the couch where Hitler shot himself. Failing these artifacts, a bloody uniform or underwear or hair clippings might be other sources.

Mixed blood with black and Jewish ancestors, and possibly homosexual. This guy did some damage. Hitler was the embodiment of everything that he hated. Unfortunately, what he did led to the annihilation and enslavement of millions of lives even after he killed himself. All because he may have been ashamed of who he was.

I’ve been checking reactions from media websites like The Daily Mail. From one Algerian, who claims that he doesn’t look Berber or sub-Saharan African (looks don’t make a positive determination) half of Algeria is furious over the connection with The Arch-Fiend of Humanity, while the other half is laughing. It will be interesting to read of other reactions across the Arab, Jewish and African worlds about this development.

Doesn’t this development give anyone a clue? Be proud of yourself, be proud of who you are, no matter what; and don’t spit on the ancestors who got you here.

One Response to “Well, We’re Not Going to Claim THIS Ancestor: DNA Study of Adolf Hitler Shows He Had Jewish and African Roots”

  1. Y-chromosomes are inherited along male lines only, and therefore don’t represent the bearer’s entire genealogical background. If he indeed belonged to the E1b1b1 haplogroup, so did his father (Alois), his paternal grandfather and their successive fathers back to the defining genetic event of this haplogroup, which according to The Genetic Atlas took place some 20,000 years ago. That corresponds to roughly a thousand generations, meaning that Hitler is simultaneously a descendant of pretty much everyone alive on the Eurasian continent back then (most of the African lineages branched off earlier, and the Americas were populated by groups who remained largely isolated until the time of Columbus).

Therefore, the point that Hitler didn’t look Berber is irrelevant, because besides the basically male attributes such as facial hair, the Y-chromosome carries little influence over the appearance of one’s face. The Algerians ought to calm down; this genetic finding is no more an insult to them than it is an insult to the rest of humanity.

However, finding the E1b1b1 haplogroup in Hitler’s genes is by itself not enough to show that he was the grandson of Leopold Frankenberger. Theoretically, the Hiedler brothers may have belonged to the very same group, even if they weren’t jews! Were their present-day male-line relatives tested too? And were those 39 other distant relatives plus the named Austrian cousin all related through Leopold Frankenberger? As far as I know, Alois Schickelgruber’s only male-line descendants alive today are those of his grandson William Patrick in the United States, where the sample was appearantly taken without their permission (I must say I found that revelation quite disturbing).
